Independent Agents provide an unmatched advantage when considering your cost per dollar of insurance. The ability to place our clients in financially strong companies that specialize in certain risk classes make it possible to provide a lower cost per dollar of insurance.

Risk is the major determining factor for price in the insurance industry. An agent with only one insurer can’t save his clients money efficiently as market forces change. When risk factors cause price to increase, that rate will rise for all clients insured by the company. The agent is stuck offering that rate even though the client may not display the risk factors that caused the increase.

Our Insurance Shopping Experts are trained to place clients in companies that offer the lowest cost per dollar of insurance based on the risk present at the time of application. We offer a risk profile reduction plan that:

  • Educates the client of risk factors present and shows how to reduce them over time, cutting the cost of insurance.
  • It shows how to maximize discounts and makes an effort to identify gaps in insurance coverage.

The risk profile reduction plan is offered to all clients free of charge and is updated and reviewed at renewal provided the client wishes to do so.

Insurance costs are lifetime expenses that can’t be taken out of a clients family or business budget and should not be ignored.

It is The Insurance Shopping Experts opinion that this is the best and only way for an educated consumer to purchase insurance products.

Best of all it takes very little time and effort for clients to accomplish. We are here to assist.

Here are five tips to keep in mind when buying insurance:

  1. Assess Your Needs: Start by assessing your insurance needs. Determine what types of coverage you require and the level of coverage that will adequately protect your assets or mitigate risks. Consider your financial situation, personal circumstances, and any specific risks you may face.
  2. Shop Around and Compare: It's crucial to shop around and compare insurance options from multiple providers. Obtain quotes, review coverage details, and compare prices. Shopping allows you to evaluate different policies, understand the value you're receiving, and make an informed decision.
  3. Understand Policy Coverage: Take the time to understand the coverage provided by the insurance policy thoroughly. Read the terms and conditions, including any exclusions or limitations. Pay attention to deductibles, coverage limits, and additional features or endorsements. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask the insurance provider or agent for clarification.
  4. Check the Insurance Provider's Reputation: Research the insurance provider's reputation and financial stability. Look for customer reviews, ratings, and the company's track record in handling claims. A reliable and financially stable insurer is more likely to provide efficient claims processing and excellent customer service.
  5. Seek Professional Advice: Consider seeking advice from an insurance agent or broker. They can provide expertise, assess your specific needs, and help you navigate the complexities of insurance. An experienced professional can guide you through the process, answer your questions, and ensure you have appropriate coverage.

Remember, insurance is a significant investment, so taking your time, gathering information, and making an informed decision that aligns with your needs and budget is essential.

How To File An Auto Insurance Claim In South Carolina

File an Insurance Claim South Carolina

How To File An Auto Insurance Claim In South Carolina

    1. Immediately after a car accident, you need to contact the police. It's always better to have a police officer write down the details of an accident in a police report than trying to provide those details later. You probably won't be thinking straight immediately following an accident and your emotions or adrenaline will make you miss things. Or if the other party is uncooperative, the police can handle this much better. Having a police report will help you in filing a claim with your car insurance.
    2. South Carolina requires an accident report to be filed when there is bodily injury or someone is killed. A crash report filing is required when a person is injured or there is more than $1,000 in property damage. South Carolina does not require you to file a report on every fender bender, but if you are able to file a report, it is best to do so.
    3. Gather information about your car accident immediately. Get the name, address and phone number of the other driver. You will also need their license plate number, insurance information and VIN if possible. Next write down the time of the accident, the address of the accident or approximate location, road and direction you were traveling in and the same for the other car. Take photos of the damage if possible. If a police officer is on-site, ask for his name and badge number although most police officers will make this readily available.
    4. Call your insurance agent as soon as it is safe to do so. Even if you are not at fault, it is best to get in touch with us as soon as possible and even if the damage appears to be not that severe. They will walk you through the next steps and tell you what information you need to provide. If you are not able to drive your vehicle from the accident, they will be able to assist you with transportation and to get your vehicle towed.
    5. Once your insurance company has received your claim, you will be assigned a claims specialist or an adjuster. They will walk you through the remaining steps to complete your claim and receive compensation.

What is an Independent Insurance Agent?

We offer a full range of insurance products to serve your needs. Independent insurance agents are different from captive insurance agents in that we can shop from dozens of different companies to find the best rates. We aren’t tied to one provider so we can make insurance companies compete for your business.

Insurance can be confusing and complicated and we get that. It’s our business to inform you of everything you need to know to have confidence you are making the best decision for you and your family. Insurance isn’t easy but it doesn’t have to be scary either and we are here to make things as simple as possible on your end.

Who Has The Best Insurance Prices In South Carolina?

The price you pay for insurance can be drastically different based on several factors. Insurance companies consider where you live, how much coverage you want, your claims history, age and credit score when pricing your policy. They use these factors to compile a risk profile on you. They then use this risk profile to determine how much you need to pay them based on past loss info in you local area.

The differences in rates and risk factors is why comparing insurance price quotes is so important. If you don’t compare quotes, and have an experienced agent shop your risk you will overpay for insurance coverage. Even worse you may end up with a cheap policy with insufficient coverage or subpar customer service. Having a good insurance agent means we deal with the problems for you when they arise rather than you being stuck on hold with a 800 number representative.

Your risk profile plays a major role when shopping insurance rates. A driver with several incidents (tickets or accidents), or a homeowner with some claims, will pay more and needs a little more time to shop for the best price. There are times when databases may find things that they shouldn't on your record and you need an experienced agent to negotiate with underwriting to remove those items and reduce your insurance rates.
